Summer Stories: A Memoire from Gucci Osteria Chefs

“In light of Gucci Summer Stories, the House’s latest campaign that celebrates the vibrant energy of warmer weather, each Gucci Osteria has placed a dish on its menu that is inextricably linked to the summer memories of its chefs”

Food, and everything it encompasses, from taste to smell, to preparation and presentation, is a powerful vehicle capable of instantly transporting its consumer into their personal memories, especially those relating to the joyous summer months. In light of Gucci Summer Stories, the House’s latest campaign that celebrates the vibrant energy of warmer weather, each Gucci Osteria has added a dish to its menu that is inextricably linked to the Summer memories of its chefs.

The journey begins at Gucci Osteria Florence with Non dire Cassate, topped in this version with pistachio pesto and red prawns. A faithful tribute to Italian pasta culture, expressing the playful nature of the summer months through its presentation, recalling the Sicilian cassata dessert in shape and color.

True Italian Summer flavors are evoked at Gucci Osteria Beverly Hills through Insalata di Mare, an Italian classic revisited with Santa Barbara spot prawns, East Coast scallops, North California calamari, East Coast razor clams, fresh seaweed from Monterey Bay and trout roe. When traveling around Italy, whether entering an osteria, pizzeria, or restaurant, often the first thing offered upon arrival is a seafood salad. This version upholds and celebrates Italian traditions, whilst elevating the ingredients through locally sourced seafood and vegetables from farmer’s markets.

Summer aromas at Gucci Osteria Seoul are conjured through Sentiero di Mt.Halla, a dish inspired by Summer walks through the woods on Jeju Island, following paths surrounded by greenery leading up to Mt. Halla. Recalling scents from these trails, the dish combines Jeju Island black pork sirloin grilled over binchotan charcoal with a Chamnamul pesto.

Gucci Osteria Tokyo’s Summer offering combines the best Japanese ingredients with Italian flavors in a dish that calls upon memories of Summers spent in the Italian region of Campania. Pacchero ai 7 Pomodori del Pastificio dei Campi brings the simplicity of Mediterranean flavors through the highest quality Italian pasta, and a variety of flavorsome Japanese tomatoes packed with the sweet, tangy notes of this quintessential summer fruit.
